FSSAI and BMC hold another street-food hygiene session in Mumbai

The 30 September Andheri session covered food handling and hygiene. Training is not a safety guarantee for every stall.

FSSAI and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation held a street-food vendor training session in Andheri on 30 September, according to a PIB announcement on 1 October.

What vendors covered

Around 50 vendors attended this 57th session. Topics included personal hygiene, safe food handling, contamination prevention, clean preparation areas, storage and serving.

The wider programme aims to reach more than 10,000 vendors. That target should not be read as the number already trained at this session.

What a diner can check

A training announcement does not certify every stall in a city. Our practical guide focuses on visible handling habits and questions you can ask. These checks can inform a choice, but cannot reveal every food safety risk.
